To reach the data maturity you need to develop quality and trust within your organisation you'll need to integrate all your data into a central Modern Data Stack. When it comes to developing a Modern Data Stack, the age-old question remains - build vs buy? We believe it's not a question of can you build... The question is should you build?
- Using the STAY Conversations to Craft a Leadership Experience(CIO ANZ-October) What career experiences do senior leaders want? What could their career pathway look like as a leader of leaders in the business? The answer is... by using data to pull together themes, and craft a career pathway with experiences the enables leaders' growth and development. After all, how do we expect them to be good leaders if they do not get the opportunities to develop themselves. During this session we cover a journey that has grown significant interest from leaders at EY and we talk about how it can be replicated in organisations. Join us as we get together with Liz Heathwood to dive into: How we are thinking about their career experiences and pathways. How to have a good leadership / career conversation. What does it look like and how do you break down the walls so people get vulnerable and tell you what they really think rather than lip service. - How to Realise Federated Identity in Days not Months(CIO ANZ-October) The Digital transformation journey many organisation are on, is challenging to say the least. Leaders are often constrained by legacy technologies; not well integrated systems of records, all leading to significant traditional IT debt! They’ve learned over time that they cannot achieve their business growth goals using these existing, outdated technology.Optimisation and modernisation of these legacy technologies is really the foundation to digital transformation. This will provide an overall reduction of costs, and also greatly increase business agility, not to even mention the security benefits. As they move towards Cloud adoption, business apps, best-of-breed partners, there is a great opportunity for optimisation, particularly through consolidating to a central identity plane, connecting all of these various apps, various partners, and increasing the mandate for centrally managed MFA. Not only will this provide increased visibility with the wider operational security team, but it will enable them to provide federated identity services in days, not months.

- Benchmark Your Third-party Sensitive Content Communications Maturity Level(CIO ANZ-October) Digital transformation is accelerating sharing and transfer of sensitive content to third parties across all industry sectors. Nearly all of this data is regulated and protected by governmental and industry standards. In addition to a cyber-threat landscape that is growing in complexity and maliciousness, maturity of governance and security tracking and controls directly translates into risk. This presentation explores key findings from a new cross-industry global survey focused on third-party sensitive content communications and spells out key takeaways that will help attendees improve their risk posture as it relates to compliance and security.

It’s no secret that the CIO is at the forefront of any conversation when it comes to automation and digital transformation but do, we, as CIOs always take the next step because it’s beneficial for the user, because it’s fit for purpose, or do we sometimes take the best of breed approach, meaning just because it happens to be a good idea on paper?
