This session will focus on: Habits and behaviours Infinite goal setting How to increase your productivity / your teams productivity
- Scaling AI Without Crashing: Secure Your AI Lifecycle and Scale Up at Speed(Plenary) Many companies see the opportunity in AI to radically change the way they do business and speed up their digital transformation. Whether it’s to improve customer experience and reduce customer churn, accelerate innovation or optimize productivity of financial flows, or reduce costs through predictive analytics. After focusing resources on their AI practice, organisations are pushing their models out of the sandbox and serving them at scale so that they can start realising the ROI. However, it is not that simple and companies continue to face many challenges. Numerous government agencies and enterprise customers have deployed their models two to three years ago, but have not retrained the models using the latest data since then. That’s not even counting the many models in sandboxes failing to go live in production. The question is therefore, how to secure your AI lifecycle and scale up at speed? Join this session to learn more about: What are the challenges & limitations with AI industrialization? What are the ingredients to correct the flaws, secure your AI launch and scale the use of AI across the business? How to create resilient AI-driven assets to maximize impact?
- Overcoming the War on Talent, and Developing a Workforce for the Future(Plenary) The way we work, recruit and retain talent has shifted drastically in the past 2 years; individuals are not just looking for financial gain, they want more. They want to work with companies that align to their values, and that is clearly and accurately demonstrated. Join this session to understand: The current landscape – workforce and flexibility Standing out – ways to attract, recruit and retain talent of the future Creating a path for developing the right team – are you diversity focused
- Morning Tea & Networking Break(Plenary)
- The Logical Approach to a Data-Driven Culture(Plenary) The early crop of CDOs was focused on data governance, data quality and regulatory drivers but today's CDOs are more focused on enabling a data-driven culture. To become data-driven, organisations must ensure that as many data consumers as possible are able to access the entire enterprise data and use it to improve and optimise both business and decision-making processes. Data Virtualization is a modern data integration technique in which a single logical data layer can be built containing semantic definitions of all of the underlying sources. This approach accelerates data delivery and drives enterprise adoption of data usage. Attend this session to understand how a logical approach to data delivery can be used to; Seamlessly implement an Enterprise Data Marketplace Enable all business users to derive value from self-service analytics tools Apply consistent security and governance policies across the enterprise data ecosystem
- Data Visualisation: Unlocking Evidence for Better Decisions(Plenary) It is widely accepted that data is key to good decisions, especially within transport. However, data is most valuable when refined into analysis and insights that inform evidence-based decisions, making the best possible use of the funding available and positively affecting our community. For some years now, the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) has been producing comprehensive, interactive data visualisations to manage the performance of its large transport infrastructure portfolio. Recent advancements in data analysis and visualisation software have allowed TMR to produce its largest and most complex data analysis dashboard to date. Join the session as Dr Marco discusses: The journey TMR is on in relation to data analysis and visualisation How newly available software and techniques are being leveraged to unlock evidence for better decisions How to create better outcomes for our community, now and in the future.
- Knowledge Graphs - The Secret Ingredient CIOs Are Using to Accelerate Cloud Transformation Through to Employee Engagement(Plenary) The war for talent, and digital transformation, are both a huge focus for CDOs today. 86% of Australian CIOs noted in a recent survey the need to acquire and retain top talent as the skills shortage continues. Engaging employees and providing career pathways is key to retention. Meanwhile CDOs must continue to manage the complex migration of IT estates to the cloud, requiring a deep understanding of the network dependencies to prevent outages. Knowledge Graphs built on Neo4j offer a complete view of their business in near real-time, making sense of vast amounts of data - from IT network performance to employee skills catalogues. The resulting Knowledge Graphs enable CDOs and their teams to make faster decisions, automate processes, and retain top talent.
- How the Past 3 Years Have Reshaped the Approach We Take on Data(Plenary) The global COVID-19 pandemic had implications on all industries, for healthcare, this meant to re-invent the way they think about data and how to leverage from the vast amount of data they generate daily. The challenge was to create and deploy analytical teams, upskill the existing workforce, while getting valuable insights from a medical practicing workforce who was/is under a lot of pressure. Nowadays, there are multiple success stories of LHNs and Hospitals that got it right and are now able to leverage their data to generate value, provide better care or prepare for any future outbreaks. H ere we are joined by Humberto, Manager at PWC as he takes us on his journey from consulting medical companies and help them develop and train their own data teams. As he works backwards from the problem and how to get the exact data needed every time. The importance of Data literacy – internal training to understand and create reports on the data being collated. How to change the workflow – creating meaningful dashboards and forecasts How to get everyone in the team on board.
- Lunch & Networking Break(Plenary)
- The Democratization of Analytics - Scale the Impact of Analytics Across the Organization(Plenary) It’s no secret that smart organizations want to make more decisions fuelled by data and analytics – but relatively few have breakthrough success. A recent study showed that 97% of organizations are investing in big data and AI technologies but only 23% report being data driven. What’s the bottleneck? Complex disparate data silos, a lack of data and analytic talent, inefficient and manual processes, and a lack of data literacy remain top inhibitors. What if an organization could upskill its workforce so all business teams and knowledge workers could use data and analytics to solve their companies most vexing challenges? There is a way – a proven method – that helps organizations democratize analytics across an organization.
- Using Data to Build Better Relationships with Customers(Plenary) Paid advertising and social media is now one of the key marketing spending forms, but how are we really maximising the data from this to not only understand the client’s needs but also improve the connection the brand has with them and the brand image. In this session, we are joined by Luke Houghton , as he takes us through his expertise on the intersection of digital media, problem-solving, and dealing with the most difficult issues of our time. Turning data into value Creating brand awareness and a meaningful bond through data Understanding client’s complaints and addressing them Using paid advertising and other platforms to communicate goodwill

- Automating Data- Looking Behind the Curtain(Plenary) As data professionals we need to re-assess and re-evaluate our strategy according to how successful our efforts have been over the last 30 years. Today we will discuss some of the difficulties of using legacy data collected for other purposes within AI-driven models & come to some solutions for the problems of legacy data. Join this session to explore: What has been and what has not been working for IT and data Where we are today as a result What we need to do differently going forward to help our organisations be sustainably more successful

The brand navigator, Lauren Clemett shares how brands magnetise attention and how you can use the science of neurobranding to lead with purpose, direction and meaning.
- Prioritizing Data as a Strategic Asset(Plenary) Data is a critical business asset, whether that's realized to its full potential is up to the business. How an enterprise prioritizes data as a strategic asset will determine its survival, growth potential, and competitive advantage. Having a true data management strategy to ensure quality, trustworthy data at scale will be key for businesses to drive increased revenue and outperform competitors. Join Rex Ahlstrom; CTO, EVP Innovation & Growth at Syniti, as he discussed on what are the cost and implication of bad data and how with improved data management, business executives can then make more informed decisions. Attendees will walk away with: Understanding data’s significance & value - why is it so important for businesses today? How data quality and company success are inextricably linked Combining quality data with the right choice of emerging tech to improve competitive advantage
- Evolve: Riding the Wave of Change through Human Leadership(Plenary) We operate in an increasingly volatile and ever-changing world. For Leadership to be transformative we must learn to ride the waves of change, rather than resist them. Through a Human Leadership approach we can harness the power of our greatest assets, our human beings, and move business forward sustainably without sacrificing people in our pursuit of profit. Join this session to unlock: Change is inevitable, how we respond to change is our choice. By focusing on meeting the needs of our Human Beings first, we ensure they're committed and on the journey with us while we ride the waves of change. The Organisational and individual benefits of Human Leadership.
- A Closer Look at What a Successful Cloud Transformation Looks Like(Plenary) What’s your best move when carrying out a transformation journey in an organisation where the culture is not set up for that journey? Often we find ourselves in environments where the infrastructure is hand touched and not repeatable and therefore not an easy task to take over. On top of that the culture is a problem too and lack of trust across teams which leads to blame, job insecurity and high turn-over. During this session we take a closer look at how Dye & Durham have turned a ship in successfully going through this journey despite the odds when it comes to culture, adaptability , the silo based environment that they were in prior. Join us as we get together with David Hobley to discuss: Transformation in conjunction with culture change : moving from silo based teams to a unified approach Right-sizing product delivery teams based on BA & QA skills Understanding & navigating your path to automation
