Agenda
- Optimising ROI – The Business Case for Automated Transaction Matching(Plenary) With high volumes of financial transaction data, many organisations spend excessive time creating spreadsheets and manually identifying those transactions for verification while mining for those high-risk items. Regularly, reconciliations are delayed, impacting visibility into the financial performance, and increasing the risk of write-offs. In addition, your highly skilled team is spending all their time trying to find and resolve those exceptions when they should be using that time for higher-value work like data analysis. As the Office of Finance shifts to a strategic asset to the business, your highly talented resources must be focused on working strategically vs. manually matching accounts.
- Evolve: Minimising The Four Culture Killers(Plenary) 'Culture' is one component of Mark Carter's 5C MODE. For our session we are focussing on one specific aspect: as much as identifying, honing and implementing tools and strategies that allow a culture to thrive, it's equally important to understand the polarity! What are the common enemies at the gates that sometimes make a culture break! In this punchy development session Mark will share one aspect from ideas frequently weaved into his Culture keynotes and programs. Four common culture killers Initial ideas to minimise (even eliminate) the culture killers impact The biggest dirty little secret in business and why it's imperative you consciously strive to put it into action!
- A Growth Mindset is needed for Finance to adopt new Trends and resolve Challenges(Plenary) In the new world, post covid, the Finance organisation is facing an environment of even more changes and challenges than they did pre covid. This means the Finance organisation culture, in most cases, must change to a Growth mindset. By changing the culture, Finance will be able to adopt new trends quickly and can resolve challenges promptly. In this presentation we will discuss what a Growth mindset is and how this can be incorporated into the Finance culture before discussing the trends and challenges that finance need to incorporate/ resolve to ensure Finance becomes the Trusted Business Advisor.
- Morning Tea & Networking Break(Plenary)
- Keynote: The Evolution of the Finance – Are you in your comfort zone?(Plenary) Scaling an organisation is a mammoth task and the complexity arises when finance leaders have a slow adoption to the way of the future. Finance is often seen as the traditional role that it used to be and seldom have we addressed the new mandate and what it takes to prepare and evolve when we look at the strategic role that finance should play within the business. This of course is not an overnight task. But how do we get out of our comfort zone as leaders and furthermore how do we trigger the organisational mindset change when looking this function? How do we cultivate a progressive mindset? In this session we take a look at what it takes to be the change ambassador for the future CFO role as we scale. Join Jenny Junkeer, The Scaling Expert, as she dives deep into: Identifying employee resistance and management behaviour Framework to minimise resistance and stepping out of the comfort zone Maintaining a progressive yet structured system for the entire organisation
- The Tech-Savvy CFO - How CFOs are Utilising Technology to Stay Agile and Efficient(Plenary) Companies today are recognizing that a shift in their digital strategy is required. Increasingly, they are reshaping their digital presence to focus on the “last mile” – the hardest part of the customer journey that requires an individualized experience. Join this session as we dive deep into what leading CFOs are doing to remain competitive through enhanced agility and efficiency.
- Digital transformation with people at the forefront of your strategy(Plenary) It’s no secret that transformation should always follow the full support of not just your management but also the internal teams. People and culture are the make or break between the success and failure of your transformation, a reality that is often overlooked and a big contributor to an estimated $3.3 trillion loss by 2025 caused by digital transformation failures, well to be more precise up to 84% failure rate according to Forbes. During this session we get together with Vince Lombardi from Nillumbik Shire Council to take a closer look at culture and transformation in parallel. What it takes to aim for a better customer experience whilst simultaneously align your culture and mindset with the organisational objectives. Join us for this session as we take a look at: Exploring the 3 pillars of digital transformation, technology, people and processes. Digital transformation with better experience in mind for both external and internal customers. The important of internal positioning of your transformation journey and methods Nillumbik have implemented.
- Global Best Practices for Invoice to Cash Process(Plenary) With most organizations focusing on working capital optimization as the #1 priority, they need an effective way to supervise customer orders, invoicing, payments, collections and disputes. Finance teams typically spend a disproportionate amount of time on routine transactional processes while devoting too little time to other efforts, such as strategizing, analyzing and planning. With HighRadius, CFOs can automate processes to create competitive advantage, speeding up business workflows and empowering decision making. The above premise mirrors the driving force for us to explore ‘Global Best practices for Invoice to Cash process in CFO’s office’ as a critical topic of discussion with leaders. #HighRadius is World's #1 data-driven AI software platform to lower DSO, optimize working capital, fast-track financial close and improve productivity. http://highradius.com
- Lunch & Networking Break(Plenary)
- Intelligent Revenue: The Missing Link Between Finance and Sales(Plenary) Sales organisations are built to withstand change. Yet despite advancements in automation and heightened pressure to succeed, companies still struggle to understand their data and deliver on revenue targets. Too many organisations fall short in forecasting and hitting their numbers because their revenue funnel is missing a key component: the ability to capture and effectively use data. According to new research 49% of sales leaders today are looking for greater accuracy in their sales forecasting and 40% want greater agility, in real time. Source: The State of Global Enterprise Sales Performance. And today sales and finance are looking to change how they approach revenue. Companies want improved revenue operations, and organisations are accelerating their digital transformation initiatives. The biggest gap that exists in revenue operations today is INTELLIGENCE -- it’s missing INTELLIGENCE -- that is what sales and finance leaders are really looking for.
- Keynote: In One Piece, a pragmatic approach to thriving in times of change(Plenary) We could all agree that the least we learnt from the past 2 years was the realisation around how we respond to change, as individuals, as teams, as leaders. Some thrived and some not so much, some went onto to build winning teams, deliver on major projects and lead multi-disciplinary teams and the others had to sit down and take a minute. But what is it that made some of us soar, and the others barely manage. Why is it that some leaders see change as a moment of opportunity and naturally thrive and the rest battle their way through it hardly standing? Is it mindset? Is there a system? How can we change that? During this session we get together with Mary-Beth Hosking as she takes us through a journey of drastic change & transformation and unwrap what it takes for leaders to not just survive but thrive during periods of uncertainty and the role people play as the centrepiece of every journey.
- Keynote: Comptometer To Digital(Plenary) While information overload is a phenomenon we cannot avoid, there are strategic ways adopted by business leaders to streamline effective decision making processes. How are leaders such as CFOs expected to embrace the overflow of information and focus on identifying what’s relevant. In this session, David Frost will outline the following: Are you and your team expected to do more with less? Do the right things first. Are you suffering information overload? Getting to what really matters The changing face of fraud, from analogue to digital.
- Afternoon Tea & Networking Break(Plenary)
- Keynote: Leadership and Communication Effectiveness(Plenary) Behavioural competencies are key to every business partnership role. A "seat at the table" must be earned. A stable and an effective business model requires the head of the finance function to wear multiple hats. A CFO needs to be a visible leader in the business, an excellent communicator, and an influencer. Without the CFO’s leadership, certain key elements of a business transformation lacks value and credibility. Deep dive with Linda Scott as she outlines the need for effective communication to build rapport, relationships and contributions towards key business decisions. How do you build effective leadership behaviours for CFO to create high performance teams? What does a strategic CFO role look like post pandemic? How do you adopt a modernistic mindset and embrace change?
- Evolve: Fear Is Your Future(Plenary) The current environment has left many of us feeling afraid: afraid of slowing down, afraid of keeping up, afraid of holding on and afraid of letting go. It’s not only overwhelming but exhausting and it’s standing between your people and their potential. Fear is the number one barrier to adapting and making impactful change. What if fear was the greatest opportunity you had to work out what next and pave the path to possibility? Uncertainty and change in this new world are constant and many of us lack the skills to adapt and leverage fear to our advantage. Fear Is Your Future seeks to demonstrate how fear is the greatest lever available to us, in making impactful and meaningful change, in a future of unknowns.
