- Expanding Enterprise Planning Beyond Finance(Plenary) FP&A has evolved and finance professionals are expanding outside of finance, breaking down silos to drive value with enhanced collaboration. xP&A extends the wisdom of FP&A to all areas of a company, incorporating a financial perspective into a broader range of decisions. How do you integrate all planning processes in the organisation? How do you make sure your top-down and bottom-up planning processes are harmonised beyond the finance function? xP&A offers a solution for the path forward. Coined by Gartner, this buzzword is gaining a lot of momentum in the FP&A space and it requires the right corporate culture, tools, and techniques to make it work effectively. The methodology behind xP&A applies FP&A tools and related processes to additional departments within an organisation, and links data, systems, and people both horizontally and vertically. This enables organisations to unify, integrate and align planning and forecasting activities throughout the entire value chain. In this session you will hear valuable insights into how organisations are leveraging this methodology to increase collaboration and drive performance improvements and growth.

However, doing so will likely require major changes in how Finance leaders act and think — their “DNA.” A recent EY CFO survey identifies three fundamental ideas for CFOs to consider: Be smarter about the emotional intelligence that underpins collaborative leadership • Reframe what value means for the organisation Make bold and innovative choices to reframe finance for a very different future While the COVID-19 pandemic has come at a huge humanitarian and economic cost, it has also changed how we think about the world. As well as protecting their people and their communities, innovative and bold companies are also pioneering new business models, accelerating digital priorities and transforming how they work.
