Career
Andrew Dome is a senior technology leader and Chief Digital Information Officer (CDIO) at Uniting, with extensive experience leading technology-enabled transformation across aged care and community services, financial services, utilities and property in Australia, New Zealand and the UK.
At Uniting, Andrew leads large-scale digital and technology transformation across enterprise platforms, HRIS, payroll, billing and digital customer experience. His focus is on building scalable technology foundations that enable organisational growth while improving operational efficiency, employee experience and customer outcomes.
A key focus of Andrew’s work has been the practical implementation of generative AI. He led the development and rollout of Buddy, Uniting’s generative AI platform for frontline workers, which provides access to information, policies and procedures and enables customer progress notes to be captured through voice-to-text in multiple languages.
Role at Factor
As an Expert Advisor at Factor, Andrew brings a practitioner-led perspective on implementing and scaling technology and AI in real-world environments.
He advises leaders on moving beyond AI experimentation into production, identifying high-value use cases, driving adoption and demonstrating measurable value across productivity, employee experience and customer outcomes.
His experience also enables him to advise on technology transformation within highly regulated environments, where organisations must balance innovation with workforce constraints, regulatory requirements, customer expectations and sustainable growth.
Andrew brings particular insight into using technology to augment the workforce rather than replace it, including how AI can reduce administrative burden, improve employee retention and create capacity for higher-value work.
Key roles: CIOs, CTOs, CDOs, CDAOs, COOs, CEOs, Technology & Transformation Leaders, and People & Workforce Leaders.
Previous Roles
Andrew has held senior technology leadership roles across Australia, New Zealand and the UK, spanning aged care and community services, financial services, utilities and property.
Since joining Uniting as CDIO, Andrew has led a significant portfolio of transformation initiatives, including HRIS and payroll implementation, enterprise platform transformation, digital customer experience and the development of AI-enabled workforce capabilities.
His work has included scaling Buddy to approximately 9,000 frontline workers, with the platform helping employees reclaim significant time from administrative tasks while improving documentation and customer outcomes.
Media Presence and Industry Contributions
Andrew is increasingly recognised for his practical contribution to the technology and aged care sectors, particularly in the application of AI to real operational challenges.
He regularly contributes through keynote presentations and panel discussions, sharing lessons from Uniting’s transformation journey and the practical challenges of implementing AI into production.
Andrew came 3rd in the CIO50 2025 awards, representing the top 50 CIOs in Australia, was awarded the 2026 Asia Pacific Stevie Gold Award for Most Innovative Technology Leader of the Year and the 2026 Ageing Asia Global Trailblazer of the Year.
Leadership Philosophy
Andrew believes technology and innovation should be measured by the value they create for the organisation, its people and its customers.
His approach focuses on solving genuine operational challenges, using AI and digital technology to augment the workforce, improve productivity and create better customer outcomes.
He brings a pragmatic perspective grounded in implementation rather than theory, with particular emphasis on taking emerging technologies from concept through to production, scaling adoption and demonstrating tangible return on investment.
