Agenda
- How Tabcorp ensures a successful Spring Racing Carnival with healthy data(Plenary) With 50 million transactions a day, and an expectation to exceed this volume by far this year, betting is at the heart of the Spring Racing Carnival and directly impacts the state’s economical benefit. In this session, we will explore how Australia’s largest wagering and gaming provider deals with demands around enabling this success, in particular: Strict regulations and compliance requirements How data quality becomes critical when digital business is mainstream What sets them up for success to ensure the reliability of data delivery
- Being “Data Driven” About Being “Data Driven”(Plenary) It is quite clear that the data revolution has unleashed immense transformations across all businesses. The emergence of data analytics, data governance and data science has propelled enterprises to proactively strengthen their data culture with a common goal of achieving the overarching purpose of the business. Following 17 years in leading roles and delivering data-driven software and consulting services to major automotive brands in Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Americas, Alex is now spearheading the continued evolution of Jetstar’s use of data and analytics to deliver on its mission to “change people’s lives through low-cost travel”. Join this session to learn: • How Alex and his team are developing and evangelising a “data driven” culture across Jetstar. • With an unprecedented demand for travel came an unprecedented demand for data and analytics. • How a complex organisation can apply a “data driven” approach to being “data driven”.
- AI Governance: Gain Control Over AI(Plenary) In the rush to deliver value-added models to the business, sometimes AI & analytics data projects arrive poorly tested or are incompatible with the production environment. IT managers complain they cannot properly monitor them and business people aren’t informed of issues before getting impacted. All of this destroys trust and increases the risk of exposing your business to operational, reputational, and legal hazards calling for tighter controls. In this session, James will deep dive how to safely scale and implement controls while still empowering data science teams to continue delivering business value.
- The Future is Enterprise Automation: Delivering Inspiration & Transformation(Plenary) In this post-covid world, enterprises are adopting automation with increased urgency. According to research SnapLogic conducted earlier this year, together with our research partner Vanson Bourne , the average organisation has more than 115 distinct cloud applications in use at any one time. Many more for larger enterprises! And, a huge concern, nearly half of them (495) are disconnected from one another. 89% of the IT decisions makers we surveyed said they are worried data silos are holding their organisation back. Regardless of the technology that is ultimately deployed, and regardless of the technology vendor that is chosen, there are three things companies want…. 1. Transformation that delivers products & services to market faster 2. Provide better customer experiences 3. Achieve amazing business results Enterprise Automation helps companies achieve these three main objectives (above) and ultimately deliver two main benefits: an increase in business agility and more empowered users. Both of which lead to improved business results, and ultimately support companies in delivering their objectives.
- Morning Tea & Networking Break(Plenary)
- Making Real-Time, Granular Data and Analytics available Across Your Organisation, your Business Ecosystem and Beyond(Plenary) Data is now rightly perceived as a business asset. The use case for sharing data within an organisation has always been clear, but the next phase is really revolutionising how we share data with those on the outside. The timeliness and quality of that data is critical. Not only do we need streamlined, secure real-time data pipelines, both internal and external to your organisation, but also, the ability to provide real-time embedded analytics into operational applications and business portals. Join this session to hear: That real-time data pipelines are the foundation building block for businesses today How using RPA, ML & AI can improve data quality, contain costs, and maintain the timeliness of data delivery Why Embedded Analytics is becoming more pervasive and necessary in creating certainty in an uncertain business eco system both now and into the future The argument for a flexible open end-to-end data integration and analytics platform
- Utilising Business Analytics and Visualisation to Support Decision Making(Plenary) Business analytics is a key role in helping organisations to reduce risks. By using the right data and analytics we can help make the right decisions in a company from trends, customer preferences, what is working and what isn't. When used correctly not only does it help a business in the short term but also in long-term risk and finally helps get all the board on the same page. Join this session as we discuss: How to leverage business analytics and visualisation for enhanced decision support Techniques for visualising big data in fast paced environment Applications of analytics visualisation for better performance management
- A Business-First Approach to Building Data Governance Programs(Plenary) Traditional data governance initiatives fail by focusing too heavily on policies, compliance, and enforcement, which quickly lose business interest and support. This leaves data management and governance leaders having to continually make the case for data governance to secure business adoption. In this presentation, Sam will share a lean, business-first data governance approach that connects key initiatives to governance capabilities and quickly delivers business value for the long-term.
- Embarking on a Data-Lead Culture(Plenary) Join this session to uncover how the National Heart Foundation have created a data driven culture and hear more about where they’re headed next in their data journey.
- Lunch & Networking Break(Plenary)
- Better Data, Better Decisions- Ataccama(Plenary) In this session we will help you to understand how you can achieve data integrity by ensuring the accuracy, consistency and context of your data. This means you can make better, faster, more confident decisions based on a deeper understanding of data you can trust. Join us to gain insights into: The complex data landscape, what data assets should be prioritised for data quality projects. How to get going no matter where you are on your data quality journey. What matters most - building long term success in data management.
- Using a Data Clean Room for Business Growth(Plenary) Sharing data while adhering to privacy regulations has always been challenging. But by using distributed data clean rooms, it’s now possible to collaborate with data in a secure manner that aligns with privacy rules. The capabilities of distributed data clean rooms are especially beneficial to advertisers and the media industry as we continue moving to a cookieless future. Data clean rooms allow organizations to manage data effectively, deidentify it, and share it. Let’s explore what a data clean room is and how it works, the benefits you can experience with a data clean room, and how today’s companies use data clean rooms for business growth.
- Building Model Deployment Pipelines that Ensure Regulatory Compliance(Plenary) The key challenge to organisations is not just to build models that give answers to problems but to deploy and manage hundreds of such models simultaneously. There are 4 main stages of a deployment pipeline; version, testing, independent deployment and finally production deployment. Now remember depening on how all of the stages go... Not all models should be deployed. In this session we will cover: How to create a model deployment pipelines whilst keeping it simple, How to scale on the available technology stack Maintaining models such that they are always explainable to customers “Regulations as code” framework can remove the risk of future litigation if the “wrong” model were to affect customers.
- Data Mesh: Scalable Analytical Data Management(Plenary) As every organisation’s data landscape continues to advance and evolve, so too must its approach to analytical data. In this presentation, we look at the data mesh approach, focusing on its core concepts of: Domain ownership Data-as-a-product Self-service infrastructure Federated governance
- Afternoon Tea & Networking Break(Plenary)
- Uncovering the Business Value of Data Intelligence(Plenary) Data intelligence is the foundation of modern self-service analytics, growing a data culture, and driving data literacy. But how do you measure success? Is there a data culture ROI? And how do you communicate that value to business stakeholders? Alation has developed a metric framework and value measurement process to answer these questions. It combines catalog usage statistics with an organisation's supplied assumptions to quantify value along several dimensions. During this session we will introduce this approach and review a series of real examples. Attendees can expect to learn: How to define a value metric framework The dependency between key use cases & their value How to extend the measurement to specific business outcomes (and convey their value to c-suite!)
- Less is MORE(Plenary) In the rapidly evolving world of technology and data, establishing an effective data and analytics team could cost an arm and a leg and much more. Unless you are a big enterprise many businesses may not be able to afford the state of the art tech and cloud set ups with every tool that is out there because your techie says they ‘Absolutely NEED’ it. What I will cover here are some simple tips and tricks to keep under control your unit cost and achieve sustainable growth and higher speed to delivery. Join this session to learn: Build It! - Invest in the foundational build Scale It! - Continuous improvement Sustain it! - Set up a CoE that provides guardrails to the teams
- Globalisation of Data and How Regional Differences Impact Progress(Plenary) Data residency challenges means teams are working in different regions and data cannot be accessed remotely. Business regions and even business units have differing priorities on what should be done in what order. What are some of the interesting uses of data in the Specsavers estate that are being developed? Join us as Julian shares his insights and his views on data globalisation. 1. Disciplined code control and devops automation has provided significant benefits and continues to do this 2. Small steps. The investment is not insufficient so start with an achievable target and get it live to realise the benefits 3. If you don’t have the expertise, invest in the expertise and train your team continually.
