Agenda
- A Tale of Two Patterns(Plenary) "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times..." for the UK grocery supply chain, the rules have changed completely over the past 18 months. The impact of the pandemic, Brexit and many other factors have thrown 30+ years of relative stability into constant change. Customer demand has changed beyond recognition and traditional forecasting models and approaches are failing... but large scale data sharing and new machine learning approaches offer new solutions to these new problems. Learn how two very different approaches to demand forecasting provide a unique perspective on UK grocery shopper demand, and how the Snowflake Data Cloud enables their use across an entire sector.
- Data as a Force for Good(Plenary) Attend this session to gain insights into: Insights across transformational leadership Building a data culture, how to find and empower your data champions Remember your basics and utilise technology as an enabler
- Predictive Maintenance with Application Workflow Orchestration, Big Data and IoT(Plenary) Big Data projects and Data Pipelines have merged into the technology fabric of every organisation. The tools for building and running application workflows must be not only easily versionable and testable but they must also provide access to business and non-technical users. They must deliver the operational richness required to operate complex applications and deliver business services in accordance with service level commitments. In this talk, Alon Lebenthal, Senior Manager Solutions Marketing in BMC Software, explains the need of production-ready application workflow orchestration for data-intensive applications and how automation, Big Data and IoT helped a leading vehicle manufacturer to cut fleet downtime.
- Data is the Key to Becoming Safer, Faster, Better(Plenary) The impact of COVID-19 on oil and gas demand, and the resulting fall and general volatility in commodity prices, upped the ante on an unparalleled scale, presenting the global energy industry with even tougher challenges, and less time to address them. For many, the pace at which they were required to respond to these challenges was simply too great. The burden of the pandemic weighed especially heavily on less resilient organisations who found themselves scrambling to preserve cashflows in the short term, struggling to reduce costs in the medium terms and puzzling over how to avoid destroying value in the long run. The Coronavirus has served as an example – albeit an extreme one – of how vulnerable organisations are if they lack resilience, agility, and the capacity to adapt quickly to complex change. This inflexibility will ultimately hamper their ability to evaluate options without delay and take fast, decisive action. This session will explore: Leadership agility, the need for fast decision-making and business intelligence. Harnessing your organisations data assets and being able to scale across your enterprise to drive results.
