Oisin Lyons · Head of Data Science, Aon Centre for Innovation and Analytics (ACIA) Oisin leads the Data Science group at the Aon Centre for Innovation and Analytics. His focus is on using novel data and modelling techniques to drive innovation within the insurance industry. Oisín leads a talented team of AI, NLP, Deep Learning and Actuarial specialists who deliver complex insurance analytics, and deploy production grade novel data science techniques to insurance problems. He is a graduate from Trinity College in Mechanical Engineering, publishing research in the area of Heat Transfer and Fluid Dynamics. Oisín joined Aon in 2014, previously working in academia and spent a year as a Fulbright Scholar in Purdue University using Data Science in Fluid Dynamics research
Nora Cooke O'Dowd · Programmes and Data Acquisition Director, Research Data Scotland Nora has extensive experience across the UK public sector data landscape – working to understand population health needs across public health teams and a national health think tank before leading the Research and Intelligence team at the fertility regulator (HFEA). At the HFEA, Nora worked to improve access to data for research and delivered a data driven approach to understanding inequalities in access to and outcomes of fertility treatment. In April 2022, Nora took on the role of Programmes and Data Acquisition Director at Research Data Scotland (RDS). RDS is working to improve the economic, social and environmental wellbeing in Scotland by enabling access to data about people, places and businesses for research in the public good
