Overview

As government agencies increase their use of cloud services, AI models and distributed digital capabilities, sovereignty is becoming more complex than determining where data is stored. Agencies must also consider where sensitive information is processed, how AI models are governed, who controls the underlying infrastructure, and whether critical capabilities can continue operating independently of external platforms or continuous connectivity.

Processing data and running AI inferencing closer to its source can provide greater control over sensitive information while supporting faster and more resilient operations. However, decentralising infrastructure also introduces questions around model provenance, cybersecurity, policy enforcement, data consistency and accountability across multiple environments.

This roundtable will explore how public sector leaders can translate sovereignty principles into practical infrastructure decisions, enabling trusted data processing and AI capabilities at the edge without compromising security, interoperability or central governance
