Nick Verrecchia is an experienced Chief Financial Officer with more than 25 years of experience driving profitability, cash generation and enterprise value across complex, multi-country organisations operating in low-margin and operationally intensive environments. He spent the majority of his career with DHL Global Forwarding, progressing through senior finance leadership roles across Switzerland, Canada and the South Pacific.

From 2014 to 2026, Nick served as Chief Financial Officer for DHL Global Forwarding's South Pacific region, leading finance across Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Fiji. The business represented more than A$1 billion in revenue and approximately 800 employees, with Nick also serving as a board director across four country entities and working closely with CEOs and Managing Directors on commercial performance, governance, investment and long-term strategy.

Nick combines deep finance expertise with a strong commercial and operational mindset. He has more than doubled South Pacific profitability since 2019, transformed loss-making operations into sustained multi-million-dollar EBIT contributors, sponsored more than A$100 million in infrastructure investment and led major finance transformation and offshoring initiatives across multiple countries.

Previous Roles

Nick served as Chief Financial Officer, South Pacific at DHL Global Forwarding from 2014 to 2026, leading finance across Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Fiji. He managed a 37-person finance team and worked closely with regional and country CEOs on financial performance, business planning, commercial strategy, procurement, investment, governance and risk.

During his tenure, Nick more than doubled South Pacific profitability since 2019, outperforming the broader Group average, and turned loss-making operations into sustained multi-million-dollar EBIT contributors. He sponsored and led more than A$100 million in infrastructure investments across Australia, led one of Asia's most extensive finance offshoring models and delivered a three-country finance transformation within 12 months.

Previously, Nick was Chief Financial Officer of DHL Global Forwarding Canada, overseeing a business with more than 300 employees and approximately CAD$600 million in revenue. Earlier roles in Switzerland included Senior Financial Controller at DHL Global Forwarding and Financial Planning & Analysis Manager at Danzas AEI, where he led global reporting, budgeting, financial transformation and SAP implementation initiatives across hundreds of management units.

Nick began his career at Motorola Infrastructure UK as a Financial Analyst supporting three countries, with earlier experience at Deloitte providing a strong technical accounting and commercial foundation.

Nick is active in CFO and finance leadership discussions, with particular interest in the evolving role of finance, practical AI adoption and leading organisations through sustained pressure and uncertainty. He has participated in World Finance Forum discussions examining how finance leaders can maintain clarity, protect team capacity and support people while continuing to deliver business performance.

He also contributes to executive conversations around the practical implementation of AI within finance. His focus is on tangible applications such as faster board reporting, improved FP&A and forecasting, shorter reporting cycles and the automation of transactional finance, while exploring the longer-term implications of AI agents, robotics and changing finance operating models.

Nick believes organisations should focus less on what technology could theoretically achieve and more on where it can solve genuine business problems and create measurable value. His perspective on AI is grounded in implementation, encouraging leaders to identify practical use cases, establish clear objectives and progressively move successful experimentation into everyday operations.
